Meet Our Team

Sonny J.H. Wong, MD, FACC, RPHS

Founder

Early on in his medical career, Dr. Wong was working in an emergency room when a patient went into cardiac arrest. He watched in awe as the attending doctor remained calm and logical faced with a life or death situation. This experience led Dr. Wong to not only specialize in cardiology but emulate how this physician practiced medicine.

In his nearly 30 years of experience in cardiology, Dr. Wong has done just that. His patients note that he is caring, thorough, and an excellent listener and communicator. As a cardiologist, his goal is to make a difference in every patient’s life.

Dr. Wong graduated from University of Otago Dunedin Medical School in New Zealand where he is originally from. He completed his internal medicine and cardiology training at the University of Hawaii and University of Nevada respectively, with board certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine in both. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and has been caring for patients in Hawaii since 1994.

As a professor on the volunteer clinical faculty at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine, Dr. Wong teaches first-year clinical skills and the fourth-year cardiology rotation. In an effort to impart some of the wisdom shared by his own mentors, he teaches students to think logically by ensuring a complete and competent medical history is obtained and examining the patient for clues supporting a hypothesis.

An avid golfer, you can find Dr. Wong on the golf course at least twice a week with his friends.

Natalie Mansanas

Physician Assistant

Natalie Mansanas was born and raised in Miami, Florida but has been caring for cardiac patients in Hawaii for more than a decade. She graduated from the distinguished accelerated Physician Assistant Program at Miami Dade College in 2010 as one of the youngest students to do so. Her passion for medicine and people were immediately noticeable to her mentors who recommended her for the program. From a young age, Natalie knew she wanted to work in healthcare. She volunteered as a candy striper at Mercy Hospital in Miami where her mother worked as an ultrasound technician and spent many hours as a listening ear and source of comfort to senior patients. Natalie realized she wanted to play a more integral role in patient care after spending two years as a medical assistant in obstetrics and gynecology.

Fluent in English and Spanish, Natalie’s favorite part of being a provider is building strong relationships with her patients and guiding them through their heart health journey. She strives to build relationships with each and every patient she encounters, guiding them through their heart health journey. Loving the challenge that cardiology provided, she began work at a cardiology practice upon graduation from her PA program and has specialized in cardiac care ever since, treating patients in both Florida and Hawaii. She joined the Heart and Vein Hawaii Ohana in 2022.

When she’s not managing patient care, interrogating cardiac devices or running stress tests, you can find Natalie spending time with her two kids outdoors surfing, hiking, or snorkeling.

Amanda Galdi, NP

Nurse Practitioner

Amanda Galdi served in the United States Army for ten years after graduating high school. Her level-headed thinking and steadfastness during combat for two tours in Iraq earned her numerous service medals and awards. She thrived in the fast-paced, high-pressure environment of an aviation battalion and sought a similar setting for her civilian profession. The operating room was a natural next step.

She moved to Tennessee to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from Austin Peay State University. She began her medical career as a surgical technologist in the largest medical system in Nashville but has since gained experience in all aspects of healthcare including federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), home health, private clinics, and aesthetics offices.

Amanda is an expert at a variety of venous procedures and loves hearing how much better her patient feels after a treatment. As a child, she came to respect and admire the nurses that cared for her ill sibling in a hospital – now, she appreciates the impact she has on her patient’s health and wellbeing. After living all over the world, Amanda considers Hawaii - and its aloha spirit - home.
