Dr Markarian joined Windward Heart Center, LLC in 2008 after 20 years of cardiology experience in Michigan. Dr Markarian is originally from California where she graduated from Western University of Health Sciences.
She completed her Internal Medicine and Cardiology training at Michigan State University and is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine. Additionally, she has specialty board certification in Interventional Cardiology and serves as the cardiac cath lab director at Castle Medical Center. Dr Markarian has a special interest and expertise in angioplasty, stents, TEE, pacemaker implantation, and heart disease in women.
Dr. Markarian and Dr. Wong work together to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to cardiac patients of the Windward community.

Exercise has been shown to reduce heart attacks.
Current recommendation is to exercise at least 30 minutes a day, several days a week.
Exercise can include brisk walking, swimming, biking, and even gardening.
